Meet the Founder

Throughout my NICU nursing career, I frequently witnessed parents feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, and alone. Parents wanting to be present for their child after being admitted to the NICU, but unsure of how to provide support or establish a connection with them, on top of navigating the NICU themselves.

This is when Your NICU Journey was born. We're here to support, empower, educate, and guide you as a NICU parent through this extremely challenging time.

How we can help

  • Guilty that your baby is in the NICU
  • Mourning for the delivery that you imagined
  • Alone, and no one else understands
  • Confused, overwhelmed, wanting to be there for your baby but don't know how in the NICU
  • Hopeless, depressed, and lost, not knowing what the next step is
  • Frustrated that this is out your control and you feel like you can't do anything to help

At Your NICU Journey we practice Family Center Care (FCC), where caregivers are highly active in the care of their infant throughout their NICU journey.

We teach you as the caregiver how to be highly involved with your infants care through our educational courses. We also offer 1:1 consulting sessions for parents.

We also believe in community support. We have a weekly Zoom meetings helping us build and support each other through this difficult process.

Join our community through Instagram or email, you do not have to go through this difficult time alone. We want to support you, your family, and your baby.

"Alex was one of the most optimistic and engaging nurses we had come across in the last 7.5 months of our NICU stay. She is not one of those nurses who just comes in to get vitals, give meds,  and then goes back to her chair. She actually plays, talks, and spends time with our son with different activities and helps to reach his milestones."

"I greatly appreciated Alex as our nurse.  Teaching me and explaining things in a way that I could understand and most importantly Alex made me feel comfortable."
